What it is
xBloom has been making automatic pour-over machines since 2022, which makes it the “OG” of the category. The Studio is the current model, and it does everything in one box.
- Grinder: built in, 48mm stainless conical burrs with 80 settings. You can also use it on its own for French press or Chemex.
- Scale: built in, reads to 0.1g
- Brewer: you set the temperature, water volume, bloom, pour speed and pour pattern (straight, spiral and others), with pauses between pours
- App: shows a live brew graph and has a library of recipes other users have shared
- Capacity: a single cup (about 12oz) at a time
It has three modes. Autopilot brews xBloom’s pre-portioned xPods. Copilot runs your own beans with a saved recipe. Freesolo gives you direct control of the grinder, brewer and scale.
In the video
In One Of These Coffee Robots Just Beat Keurig, Daddy Got Coffee puts it up against the Cosori Juni and Breville Spiral Luxe. It’s the most customizable of the three, mostly because of the full-featured app.
Who it’s for
Tinkerers who want to dial in every variable and save recipes for each bag. If you’d rather press one button and walk away, the Breville Spiral Luxe is simpler.
